Join Alfen as a Technical Support Engineer in our Field & Support team! Optimize Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) operations and provide vital technical support. Grow your career while driving sustainable energy forward. What will you do? As a Technical Support Engineer at Alfen, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the optimal performance of our BESS installations across the Netherlands, UK, and Scandinavia. From our control room, you will actively monitor, troubleshoot, and support customers to minimize system downtime and enhance operational efficiency. Your expertise will contribute directly to the stability and reliability of sustainable energy storage solutions. Your key responsibilities include:
- Providing technical support via phone and email, assisting customers with operational challenges.
- Acting as the key interface between customers and Alfen for all operational matters.
- Monitoring all assets proactively and reactively to ensure optimal performance.
- Performing remote troubleshooting and alarm investigations.
- Documenting and managing alarms and service requests in the ticketing system.
- Conducting performance analyses using SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems.
- Preparing service orders for on-site interventions.
- Maintaining accurate records of service-related activities.
- Liaising with customers regarding specific failures and providing updates.
- Ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Continuously improving system performance through gap analysis and response time evaluation.
- Managing service-level agreements (SLAs), maintaining availability logs, and reporting on exclusive events.
- Implementing remote software updates with approval from customers and software specialists. What are we looking for?
Requirements
Almere Energy storage systems WO HBO 2-5 years of experience 5-10 years of experience 10+ years of experience, To be successful in this role, we are looking for a motivated and customer-oriented professional with an electrical engineering background. You should be comfortable working in a dynamic environment and be open to shift work to ensure 24/7 operational support. Additionally, you bring:
- A bachelor's degree in energy technology, sustainable energy, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of SCADA and/or PLC control systems.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both spoken and written.
- Availability to work evening shifts and on-site rotations.
- A structured and results-driven mindset with a hands-on approach
