Job description
As a Quality Assurance Analyst you will be joining a small but important team which is based at the Trace ISYS offices in Clerkenwell, London although most of the working week can be spent working from home.
The QA team's primary focus is the co-ordination, organisation and undertaking of automated, unit and regression testing of modifications and defects within the OpenTWINS software product.
As part of the continued stability and product improvement of the OpenTWINS software, the team additionally ensures that the testing process is an integral part of all OpenTWINS software development and it provides a single point of contact to the other ISYS teams which focus on Business Analysis, Development and Customer Support / Service Desk.
Further responsibilities include monitoring the progress of testing via reporting tools, the review and maintenance of existing automated test scripts and the final software sign-off with delivery note documentation before delivery to clients.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Web services?, The ideal applicant will possess strong analytical skills, technical expertise in various testing tools, and a keen eye for detail.
The candidate for this role should therefore have:
- A good understanding of the software development process
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in order to compile unit / regression test plans and to communicate defects and issues to Developers, Business Analysts and Service Desk staff.
- An aptitude, in not only being able to quickly identify straightforward defects in software, but having the inquisitiveness to identify more esoteric defects that result from software changes.
- Knowledge of automated test tools
- Perform regression testing following releases to ensure new updates do not adversely affect existing functionalities.
- Good presentation and interpersonal skills
- The ability to work under pressure, to tight deadlines and the ability to expect the unexpected
- Experience of the insurance and reinsurance business (not essential but very desirable), * Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform some data analysis and recreation of defects.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to perform debugging and troubleshooting across various environments.
- Effective communication skills for documenting test procedures, reporting defects, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of project management tools such as JIRA is desirable.
- Experience in web service testing tools (SOAP/REST). (Desirable but not essential)
- Some understanding of automation frameworks such as Selenium, TestNG, Cucumber, along with scripting languages like Python, JavaScript, or C#. (Desirable but not essential)
- Relevant certifications such as ISTQB or equivalent are advantageous but not essential.
