Job description
- Lead, develop and implement BT Group data governance frameworks, policies, standards, and procedures ensuring alignment with business objectives and establishing data as an asset that delivers value.
- Define, monitor and manage processes for monitoring data governance policies, procedures, and standards (e.g. meta data, data lineage)
- Define and establish data ownership and stewardship model with roles and responsibilities across the organisation.
- Implement and govern E2E data domain map and business information model
- Oversee data stewardship activities to maintain high data quality and consistency
- Define and enforce metadata management and data lineage practices
- Collaborate with key stakeholders across business units to ensure buy-in and sponsorship of data governance initiatives.
- Act as a conduit between central governance and delivery units, ensuring consistent application of data governance standards.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives to enhance data governance control processes and platforms.
- Provide training and guidance on data governance best practices and tools.
- Mentor and coach a team of professionals, fostering growth and maintaining a high-performing team capable of executing the governance strategy.
- Input into shaping the Data transformation program
Requirements
- Stay updated on the latest industry trends and advancements on data governance tools and techniques
- Familiar with Data Governance frameworks (e.g. DAMA).
- Knowledge of data models, lineage, and enterprise data platforms.
- Data Lineage: Ability to document and visualise data flow from source to consumption
