Job description

We´re expanding our team at Alén Space, Lar looking for a Embedded Software Engineer; with passion in what you do, talented and experienced; to be involved in the evolution of on-board software and its integration across various missions, as well as the development of firmware for the company's products. The position will report directly to the Coordinator of the Software Engineering Area. This area is responsible for the design, implementation, and validation of flight software for the space segment, along with control software components for the ground segment. What you will be doing?

  • Definition and identification of technical and user requirements.
  • Preparation of software development specifications.
  • Analysis and design of on-board software and firmware.
  • Participation in validation campaigns for software and complete system (TLYF or E2E).

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience with microcontroller design flows
  • Eagerness to learn
  • Familiarity with embedded Linux systems
  • Fluency in English
  • Knowledge of embedded software development tools: C/C++
  • Experience working with GIT repositories and Linux-based operating systems
  • Some experience with instrumentation equipment (e.g., power supply, multimeter, oscilloscope)

Valuable knowledge

  • Development of custom embedded Linux systems using Buildroot/Yocto
  • Some experience with Python or other scripting languages
  • Experience in the design of on-board software for spacecraft or critical systems
  • Knowledge of software development within the FreeRTOS environment
  • Understanding of DSP algorithms
