Job description
We're seeking a talented Games Artist to join our in-house Creative Department. The role involves crafting original visual assets, characters and backgrounds. Working closely with our UI/UX designers and developers to produce the assets they need to create a successful and engaging interface to our products. What we're looking for:
- Visual Artistry: Crafting high quality, fun, visually engaging 2D assets in keeping with the requirements of the game or interface style alongside our design team. Ensuring artwork aligns with established visual styles while contributing ideas for improvement and refinement.
- Animation and Effects: Create delightful animations and celebratory effects that enhance player feedback and satisfaction.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other members of the Creative Team to ensure collaboration, consistency and quality of output is high. Work with developers to understand technical constraints, issues and platform capabilities. Prepare and hand over production-ready assets in a clear, organised, and timely manner.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Usability?, The 'how' we fulfil our role is very important and therefore the following skills required for this role have been identified as;
- Creativity: A solid portfolio of original work demonstrating a flair for artistry, a strong eye for composition, colour, and detail, with the ability to create engaging 2D artwork in a range of styles. Previous game art experience is desired but not necessarily essential.
- Technical Proficiency: Comfortable using design tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or similar (Figma experience a bonus). Experience with motion or timeline-based animation tools (such as After Effects or Rive). 3D artwork experience is a bonus but not required.
- Appreciation of UI/UX: A good solid understanding of how visuals support usability, clarity, and player experience within interactive interfaces.
- Collaboration: Comfortable working cross-functionally with designers, developers, and stakeholders, and able to clearly explain design decisions and respond to feedback.
- Flexibility: Willing and keen toutilise design skills in other areas of the business if required.
- Self-Motivated: Proactive and able to manage your own workload, meet deadlines, and take responsibility for the quality of your output.
- Communication: Clear personable communicator with the ability to communicate at all levels.
- Trustworthy: Builds and maintains the trust of others, only makes commitments that can be met.
