Job description

As part of our award-winning digital team, this is an opportunity to be a part of delivering the future of the electronic patient record though a highly varied, challenging and rewarding role which includes everything from the business analysis to the presentation of the prototype solutions to the configuration build and supporting the wards and clinical staff as your work goes live for use. In addition you will be providing advice and guidance on the effective use of the Sunrise EPR clinical system across our hospitals. You will have the opportunity to work on new initiatives in which you will be able to think creatively to design and manage your own project deliverables as well as taking a lead in those from the wider project roadmap. You will also be a lead in the maintenance of the live system; as well as working with clinicians to optimise the tools we already have. Additional working pattern details: Some unsociable hours working when required., Our award-winning digital team sits at the heart of the organisation, providing technical, infrastructure and system support to colleagues in all three of our hospitals. As part of the EPR team, you will play an important role in ensuring that we develop and maintain our electronic patient record, in a way that supports clinicians to deliver the best patient care. This role provides a unique opportunity to work with staff from right across the organisation and get directly involved in digital system implementations that make a difference., This role is combines a mix of office based, home working and on site clinical engagement. You will be:

  • offering advice and guidance on the effective use of Sunrise EPR

  • working with the wider IT team to resolve EPR issues and service calls

  • working with staff or all backgrounds and levels to conduce business analysis and gather requirements to create the right solutions, first time

  • leading, coaching and developing Configuration Specialists in order to effectively delegate work requirements and track them through to completion -conducting annual appraisals, one to one meetings and absence management meetings in line with trust policies and procedures

  • adhering to and embedding a culture of change control management -leading projects for both new and optimisation system implementations

  • leading, participating in and delivering business change, design, configuration, development and system testing

  • working flexibly and together with the team to achieve project delivery

  • involved in developing training tools and activities

  • providing on the ground support including working out of hours / nights, during system implementations

  • providing out of hours on call support on a rotational basis (on average one week in every three months). Requirements

We are looking for a highly organised, creative and motivated individual with experience of leading and delivering projects in a fast paced and ever changing environment to meet the timescales and needs of the trust. The ideal candidate will have:

  • a strong team work ethic and sense of accountability and ability to motivate others to meet project and optimisation delivery deadlines

  • an ability to manage priorities and conflicting deadlines and conflicting deadlines whilst keeping calm in times of pressure -an ability to lead, plan and support short, medium & long term projects and optimisation delivery plans, utilising various groups of people with wide skill sets to deliver on time and to an exceptional standard -coaching and mentoring colleagues to help them to develop and achieve

  • excellent communication skills and an ability to engage with colleagues and clinicians of all levels

  • a desire to improve patient care and outcomes and a passion for continuous improvement -an understanding of the challenges faces by clinicians in an acute hospital -an understanding of change management and an ability to lead others through times of change
