Job description
We're looking for a QA Engineer to join our Software Department as part of our Elite product team, helping ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of the software that powers STATSports products.
This is a hands-on role where you'll work closely with software engineers, product owners, and stakeholders to embed quality throughout the development lifecycle. You'll combine manual and automated testing, help shape test strategies, and continuously improve how we validate and release software across web, mobile, and desktop platforms.
If you're passionate about quality, enjoy collaborating with engineers, and like being close to the product, this role will suit you.
What you'll be doing:
- Contributing across the full software testing lifecycle, covering both manual and automated testing
- Designing, creating, maintaining, and executing test cases and automated test suites for new and existing features
- Working closely with developers and product owners to ensure quality is built into requirements and designs from the start
- Actively participating in Agile ceremonies, providing QA input on acceptance criteria, risks, and release readiness
- Supporting test planning and test strategy to ensure appropriate coverage for complex products and releases
- Executing testing across Web, Mobile, and Desktop applications
- Writing and executing SQL queries to validate data integrity and support backend testing
- Identifying, logging, tracking, and clearly communicating defects using tools such as JIRA
- Investigating issues and providing detailed QA analysis to support root-cause identification
- Producing clear QA reports on test execution status, quality metrics, and release readiness
- Continuously improving QA processes, tools, and automation coverage
- Acting as a strong advocate for quality and best testing practices across the wider engineering team
Requirements
Do you have experience in Test automation?, You'll likely enjoy this role if you:
- Have 3+ years of experience working as a QA Engineer in a fast-paced software development environment
- Have hands-on experience with both manual and automated testing
- Have tested web, mobile, and/or desktop applications
- Understand QA practices within an Agile / Scrum environment
- Are comfortable working with defect tracking tools such as JIRA
- Have working knowledge of SQL and relational databases (e.g. SQL Server, MySQL)
- Have strong attention to detail, good problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to quality
- Communicate clearly and enjoy working closely with cross-functional teams
Nice to have (but not essential):
Experience expanding automation coverage, contributing to test strategy, or working on complex, data-driven platforms is a bonus, but not a requirement.
What's in it for you:
- A key role in delivering high-quality software used in elite sport
- The opportunity to influence quality practices and test strategy across products
- Exposure to a broad technology stack across web, mobile, and desktop platforms
- Collaboration with experienced engineers, product owners, and stakeholders
- A team culture that values learning, ownership, and shared success
- The chance to see your work support athletes and teams at the very top of their game
If you're passionate about quality and want your work to have a real-world impact in sport, we'd love to hear from you.
