Job description
We're looking for a Senior Game Designer (Social & Metagame) to help build and ship the day-to-day gameplay content and features that bring the game to life. This role is focused on execution: designing features, tuning content, and collaborating closely with engineering, art, and production to deliver a steady flow of fun, shippable gameplay.
This is a hands-on role in a lean team. You will be actively designing, iterating, and validating features throughout development, working under the direction of the Creative Director / Lead Game Designer and alongside the Systems & Economy Designer., * Social & Competitive Design: Designing "Social Friction" loops (Leaderboards, PvP, Trading) that drive engagement.
- Collection Metas: Architecting long-term collection systems (ex: Sticker Albums, Sets) that drive retention.
- LiveOps Cadence: Designing the daily tournament flows and event rewards.
- Execution and Iteration: Taking designs from concept to implementation.
- Clarity and Quality: Ensuring the moment-to-moment player experience is polished and intuitive.
You are a hands-on designer with a strong social and metagame mindset, comfortable turning high-level direction into playable, testable features that drive competition, collection, and repeat play., * Design and implement gameplay features, modes, and content aligned with the overall game vision.
- Create clear design specs, flows, and tuning values for engineers to implement.
- Iterate on features based on playtesting, feedback, and data.
Content Production & LiveOps Support
- Design and configure content for events, challenges, missions, and progression beats.
- Support LiveOps execution by creating and tuning content within existing systems.
- Ensure content remains fresh, understandable, and rewarding for players.
Collaboration & Iteration
- Work closely with the Creative Director / Lead Game Designer to execute on the game's vision and quality bar.
- Partner with the Systems & Economy Designer to ensure features fit cleanly into progression and economy frameworks.
- Collaborate daily with engineers and artists to bring features from design to shippable reality.
- Participate in playtests and reviews, identifying issues and proposing improvements.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in game design for mobile F2P games.
- Proven experience designing and shipping social, metagame, or progression-driven systems (e.g. leaderboards, collections, tournaments, PvP-lite mechanics).
- Strong understanding of casual or hybrid-casual player motivation, especially social comparison and reward loops.
- Ability to translate high-level direction into clear, implementable designs.
- Comfortable iterating quickly based on playtests, feedback, and data.
- Strong collaboration skills when working with designers, engineers, and artists.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Fluent in English; effective in a remote, international team., * Experience with LiveOps content or events.
- Familiarity with Unity or other game engines.
- Experience working with licensed IP.
- Interest in analytics and using data to inform iteration.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development or gameplay systems, such as content generation, tuning automation, or adaptive difficulty.
