Job description

We are seeking a Business Support Officer to provide an effective support service to a diverse range of front-line and statutory services in accordance with relevant government legislation and guidelines. This role is based in Barnsley and offers a dynamic work environment with flexible working arrangements.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Report to the board manager and the training manager, managing administrative tasks efficiently.
  • Handle bookings for training courses using tools like POD, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Manage attendance lists and send reminders for workshops.
  • Book rooms and manage the training inbox.
  • Prepare newsletters and liaise with external or expert speakers for training sessions.
  • Set and rearrange training and workshop dates.
  • Maintain the BSAB training webpage and liaise with SAFE group members about attendance.
  • Take notes and prepare minutes of meetings, and book travel for members when appropriate.
  • Prepare agenda and papers for meetings.

Requirements

  • Experience in servicing meetings and minute-taking directly onto mobile devices with speed and accuracy.
  • Proven experience handling highly confidential and sensitive information.
  • Experience working in a busy local authority or public sector environment.
  • Good knowledge of information governance, data protection, health & safety, and risk management.
