Job description

Join us at the heart of a major operational transformation programme, where your analytical expertise will directly shape how we improve the way we work.

In this role, you'll uncover opportunities for improvement, diagnose operational challenges, and turn complex data into clear, actionable insights. Your work won't just inform reporting - it will influence future system design, process improvements, and better decision-making across the organisation.

You'll collaborate closely with Project Managers, Business Analysts, operational subject matter experts, clinicians, and colleagues across IT and Learning & Development. Together, you'll ensure that data, processes, and behaviours are aligned - creating insights that are meaningful, consistent, and genuinely impactful.

This isn't a "build a dashboard and walk away" position. It's about building strong data foundations, embedding process discipline, and supporting behavioural change so reporting is trusted and drives real action.

Some travel may be required to support workshops, on-site observation, and stakeholder engagement activities.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Analyse operational, administrative, and clinical workflows to uncover inefficiencies, bottlenecks, or variation.
  • Apply creative analytical thinking to re slice data, test hypotheses, and identify non obvious improvement opportunities.
  • Develop minimum viable insights quickly to help shape questions, decisions, and project direction.
  • Build analytical models and dashboards using Power BI, Excel, SQL and other tools.
  • Co design solutions with operational teams to ensure insights reflect operational reality.
  • Translate ambiguous questions into structured analytical problems and challenge assumptions.
  • Ensure reporting is developed with clear purpose, defined data needs, documented processes, training and monitoring.
  • Understand how data is captured, how systems behave, and how operational processes influence data quality.
  • Feed evidence based requirements into system development work.
  • Map current and future state data flows to support reliable reporting.
  • Ensure operational teams understand why data matters through training and guidance.
  • Track and support compliance related to reporting and data capture.
  • Develop data quality checks, exception reporting and monitoring routines.
  • Work across Operations, Clinical, Quality, IT, L&D and Programme teams.
  • Communicate analysis clearly to senior leaders and frontline teams.
  • Act as a proactive, curious and solution focused internal consultant.

Requirements

  • Comfortable working with incomplete information.
  • Experience in transformation, continuous improvement, service optimisation or operational analysis.
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience mapping data capture processes and identifying behavioural drivers of data quality issues.
  • Engineering mindset with a desire to understand how things work.
