Job description
Slough Borough Council is seeking an experienced Data Analyst to support its transformation and data strategy work programme.
The successful candidate will focus on integrating datasets, improving data quality and developing analytical products that support evidence-based decision making across council services.
A key aspect of the role will be the creation, maintenance and enhancement of Power BI dashboards and data infrastructure, enabling the council to monitor performance indicators, statutory reporting and operational insights across services.
The role will primarily support Adult Services systems, working with complex datasets and collaborating with colleagues to improve the quality and accessibility of data across the organisation., * Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards providing KPIs, performance indicators and management information
- Integrate and manage datasets from multiple council systems and external sources
- Ensure data quality, integrity and usability across reporting platforms
- Work with service teams to identify analytical needs and provide actionable insights
- Develop data models and pipelines to support reporting and analytical outputs
- Extract, clean and transform complex datasets for analysis and visualisation
- Interpret patterns and trends in data to support strategic and operational decisions
- Produce clear visual reports and presentations for stakeholders and senior leadership
- Support the development of the council's data strategy and transformation programme
- Work collaboratively with ICT and Digital teams to improve the council's use of data
Requirements
Do you have experience in SQL?, This role requires significant experience working as a Data Analyst delivering dashboards, data models and performance insights within a complex organisation.
Candidates must have experience using Power BI, SQL and working with large datasets to produce performance reporting, KPIs and management information.
Experience working with Adult Social Care systems such as Liquidlogic and Controcc is highly desirable., * Strong experience working as a Data Analyst in a complex organisation
- Experience developing Power BI dashboards and data visualisations
- Strong SQL or equivalent data query language skills
- Experience analysing and interpreting large complex datasets
- Experience producing KPIs, performance reports and management information
- Strong analytical, statistical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to translate complex data into clear insights for stakeholders
- Experience working with cross-functional teams to support data-driven decisions
Desirable
- Experience working in Local Government or public sector data environments
- Experience with Liquidlogic or Controcc Adult Social Care systems
- Experience with Agresso or other enterprise finance systems
- Knowledge of modern data platforms and cloud technologies, This role requires strong experience working as a Data Analyst building dashboards, analysing complex datasets and producing management information reports using tools such as Power BI and SQL., Do you have recent experience working as a Data Analyst creating dashboards and analysing large datasets using tools such as Power BI and SQL?
- Do you have hands-on experience designing and building Power BI dashboards, reports and visualisations for business stakeholders?
- Do you have experience using SQL, Python, R or other query languages to extract, clean and analyse large datasets?
- Have you previously worked on data pipelines, integrating data from multiple systems or building datasets for reporting and dashboards?
- Do you have experience producing KPIs, performance dashboards, statutory reporting or management information for senior stakeholders?
- Have you previously worked as a Data Analyst within a Local Authority, NHS or other public sector organisation?
- Do you have experience working with Adult Social Care systems such as Liquidlogic, Controcc or similar case management systems?
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Slough SL1 2EJ

PAYE Rate: £228.29 per day Umbrella Rate: £308.17 per day IR35 Status: Inside IR35
Note: The agreed contract rate will be £500 per day Umbrella at placement stage.
