Cloud Network Engineer
Location: Belfast (Hybrid)
Seeking an experienced Cloud Network Engineer to support secure networking, cloud services, and firewall operations across their Belfast site and Azure environment. This role suits someone confident across Microsoft-first technologies, modern firewalls, and security-focused infrastructure.
The Role
You'll deliver hands-on support across:
- Azure Networking (VNets, NSGs, routing, private endpoints)
- Azure Virtual Desktop & secure remote access
- Entra ID + Intune device management
- Fortinet firewalls (policy, NAT, logging, hygiene)
- Sophos WAF (publishing apps, rule tuning, TLS certs)
- Darktrace alert triage and remediation
- Site networking (LAN, VLANs, switching, routing)
- Guest Wi-Fi operations across two locations
- Monitoring, diagnostics, incident/change management
- Maintaining clear documentation and runbooks

- Improved Darktrace alerting and triage
- Updated diagrams, runbooks, and handover packs
Essential Skills
- Strong networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS/DHCP)
- Fortinet NGFW experience
- Guest Wi-Fi support & secure segmentation
- WAF experience (ideally Sophos)
- TLS certificate lifecycle management
- Azure networking experience
- Intune endpoint management
- Understanding of Entra ID authentication
- Security alert investigation
- Strong troubleshooting, RCA, and documentation skills
Experience: 3+ years in network/infrastructure operations or equivalent.
Qualifications: Degree/HND OR equivalent experience + certifications (Fortinet, CCNA, Azure) or proven capability.

- Conditional Access awareness
- SIEM/log analysis
- Zero Trust concepts
- PowerShell/Python
- NAC/802.1X exposure
