Job description
Managing and maintaining on site and off site servers Monitoring and supporting in house software applications Administering Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy Managing and troubleshooting storage systems including NAS and iSCSI Providing expert support across the Microsoft Windows environment Applying strong problem solving techniques including working with the OSI model, DHCP scopes, and network addressing Troubleshooting connectivity issues such as resolving a PC with no internet access Supporting virtual environments and understanding virtual machine layers
Requirements
System administration within a Microsoft Active Directory environment Group Policy management and configuration Virtualisation technologies, ideally Hyper V Experience managing storage systems including NAS and iSCSI Strong hardware knowledge including building or configuring custom machines Understanding of PC components, RAM compatibility, CPU Secure Boot, and common troubleshooting scenarios Knowledge of CPU generations for Intel and AMD Strong understanding of data size conversions and subnetting fundamentals, including byte and bit conversion and IP allocation Scripting using tools such as PowerShell Working knowledge of SQL, HTML, and general web technologies Exposure to Juniper networking is advantageous A collaborative mindset with enthusiasm for working in a high performance technical environment Strong numerate or analytical degree as Computer Science, Engineering , Mathematics , Physics, or a closely related subject, or equivalent practical experience
