Job description

On behalf of a Central Government department, I am looking for a Pay and Reward Lead, specifically withing the Digital and Data space. You will be responsible for the design and development of the reward strategy, to reflect changing business models for the delivery of digital and data services. You will be required on a contract basis, inside IR35, for 6 months. Predominantly remote (1 day per week in the office). Role Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop and maintain the Digital and Data Pay Framework for both delegated grades and SCS; including reviewing and amending the pay group structure and membership as new roles join the profession.
  • Encourage, support and help departments to adopt, or widen their use of, the Pay Framework.
  • Work with the wider people group to create templates to review and approve department business cases to adopt, develop, modify, and update the framework, and to introduce any changes where necessary.
  • Utilise market data for pay, and your knowledge of wider reward best-practice in the UK, to keep pay and reward practice competitive.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a pay and reward professional.
  • Advanced knowledge of reward frameworks, tools, and best practice, with demonstrable experience driving strategic implementation.
  • External pay bench-marking experience, using data analytics to shape evidence-based strategy.
  • Strong ability to navigate ambiguity, develop and drive strategic thinking.
  • â€"â€"Demonstrate your ability to lead and inform strategic thinking on the role of reward, to support the government's long term digital strategy.
  • Strong data analytical skills; drafting and evaluating business cases whilst also drafting and reviewing other complex papers.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proven success at solving complex pay and reward challenges.
  • Demonstrate a solid track record of leading high-level projects in environments defined by ambiguity, competing priorities, and tight deadlines, ideally within digital and data or comparable sectors.
  • Previous experience within a Government department is essential for this role.
