Job description

We are currently recruiting for a Systems / Project Engineer to join a growing engineering team working on complex technical programms within highly regulated sectors. This is a long-term opportunity to work on a major defence-related naval project, expected to run for the next 3-5 years, supporting the design, delivery and lifecycle management of critical engineering systems. Working closely with the Project Manager and senior engineering team, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth delivery of technically challenging projects, coordinating with customers, suppliers and external stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. What you'll be doing

  • Supporting the design and development of complex engineering systems
  • Producing and managing system specifications, architecture and interfaces
  • Providing technical oversight across hardware, software and electrical elements
  • Ensuring systems meet customer and regulatory requirements through verification and validation
  • Identifying and managing technical risks across project stages
  • Preparing technical reports and documentation
  • Supporting customers and internal teams with technical queries and system support
  • Managing and maintaining system requirements and traceability

Requirements

  • Degree qualified in Engineering, Systems Engineering or another STEM discipline (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience working within engineering projects, ideally in regulated or defence-related environments
  • Knowledge of systems engineering processes and engineering lifecycle management
  • Experience using AutoCAD or Inventor
  • Strong technical documentation and stakeholder communication skills Due to the nature of the work, candidates must be eligible to undergo DBS and BPSS clearance and hold a UK or dual UK passport.
