Job description
Our client, a well-established business in Gloucester, is hiring an ICT Test Manager to design, lead and oversee all testing activity across a diverse portfolio of ICT projects and workstreams. This is a critical role responsible for ensuring business requirements are delivered through robust quality assurance, effective governance and strong team leadership. You'll play a key part in shaping and developing the testing function, combining strategic oversight with hands-on technical capability. What you'll do
- Define and implement test strategies, plans, scope, resources and schedules
- Establish and enforce testing standards, methodologies and best practice
- Lead system, integration, acceptance and security testing across the full lifecycle
- Manage test environments, tooling and automation approaches
- Identify quality risks, implement mitigation plans and support go/no-go decisions
- Track and report on key quality metrics including defect trends and coverage
- Lead and develop a team of testers (manual and automation), including SMEs
- Manage stakeholder relationships and provide authoritative testing guidance You'll work closely with project managers, developers, business analysts and senior stakeholders to ensure solutions are fit for purpose, secure and aligned to operational needs.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a Test Manager or senior test leadership role
- Strong understanding of testing methodologies and QA governance
- Experience across Agile, Waterfall or PRINCE2 delivery environments
- Knowledge of system, integration, acceptance and security testing
- Experience with test management tools (e.g. JIRA, TestRail, HP ALM)
- Familiarity with automation tools and DevOps practices (desirable)
- Strong risk assessment and decision-making capability
