Job description

As a Data Modeller, you'll be embedded within a data and technology team, responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining logical and physical data models that underpin critical banking operations. You'll work closely with business analysts, data engineers, and architecture teams to ensure data structures are robust, scalable, and aligned with regulatory and business requirements. Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models across banking domains
  • Work with stakeholders to gather and translate business requirements into data model solutions
  • Maintain and govern the enterprise data model and data dictionary
  • Support data migration, integration, and warehouse initiatives
  • Collaborate with data governance and architecture teams to enforce standards and best practices
  • Produce clear documentation and model artefacts for both technical and non-technical audiences

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Data Modeller within a banking or financial services environment
  • Strong proficiency in data modelling tools (e.g. Erwin, PowerDesigner, or similar)
  • Solid understanding of relational, dimensional, and NoSQL data modelling techniques
  • Experience with data warehousing, data lakes, or core banking platforms
  • Familiarity with regulatory data requirements (e.g. BCBS 239, GDPR) is advantageous
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
