Job description

JDR Cable Systems are looking for a Systems Specialist, based from our brand new manufacturing facility in Cambois, Blyth. The Systems Specialist will provide IT Support to all members of JDR staff to ensure business continuity globally. This is a key role to support the function of the IT department within JDR Cable Systems.

As Systems Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Carry out 1st Line Support investigation to ensure the swift resolution of support requests to enable JDR to function from an IT perspective.

  • Assist with internal customer support by raising issues appropriately and professionally being responsible until resolved. Ensuring a smooth support service for internal customers so they are able to support the business.

  • Take ownership of issues and ensure that they are resolved within SLA parameters to the highest customer service standards guaranteeing the continuity of service and give an overall good customer experience.

  • Log all reported faults into the Company`s Helpdesk Management System allowing internal customers to keep up to date with the progress of their requests.

  • Effectively deal with urgent escalations by working closely with other senior technical and management staff to resolve problems quickly and efficiently.

  • Maintain a high degree of understanding of the network, systems and procedures to ensure a service delivery across JDR.

  • Work closely with other members of the Helpdesk team to ensure that the Helpdesk is constantly updating its processes to meet the high expectations of the clients.

  • Support remote offices in the UK, Europe, US and Thailand to enable business continuity and service globally.

  • Improve on current and create new procedures in order to provide best possible support for the company`s clients.

Requirements

You will have excellent knowledge in all versions of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams and email along with Networking, Active Directory including good understanding of DNS and TCP/IP. With strong analytical and problem solving skills, you will have the ability to diagnose a range of technical issues and find appropriate solutions. With a professional approach, you will be confident to work under your own initiative, as well as part of a team. You will be adept at working under pressure, and have the ability to adopt a methodical approach to problem solving. Experience of wireless troubleshooting and networking would be advantageous but not essential, as would experience of working with Apple devices/IOS and Android devices.
