Job description

We are seeking an experienced Digital Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of complex technology projects that enable digital transformation across our organisation. This role will oversee the delivery of key technology platforms and services, working closely with technical governance, digital product management, software engineering, and other stakeholders to ensure strategic outcomes are achieved.

The Digital Project Manager will be responsible for the delivery of complex products and services that are being delivered by multiple teams or have high technical or political risk. They will plan, direct and co-ordinate activities to manage and implement a programme from initiation to final transition into operational, business-as-usual management.

Just some of your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

Strategic Delivery

  • Lead the planning and execution of technology projects from initiation through to transition into business-as-usual.
  • Align project objectives with organisational strategy, ensuring compliance with governance, security, and regulatory standards.
  • Manage dependencies of varying complexity, potentially planning and feeding into larger programmes and portfolios.
  • Remove blockers and manage risks, commercials, budgets and people.
  • Predict, prevent, mitigate and manage potential risks at different phases of the life cycle.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement across delivery practices.

Operational Management

  • Manage dependencies across multiple projects and teams, ensuring timely delivery within scope and budget.
  • Oversee risk management, issue resolution, and escalation for high-impact projects.
  • Monitor and report on project performance using data-driven metrics and KPIs.

Stakeholder Management

  • Responsible for understanding, managing and communicating to complex stakeholder groups, balancing priorities
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and moderate difficult discussions about high risk and complex topics, even within constrained timescales

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Foster collaboration between product, engineering, and IT service teams.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, managing expectations and facilitating complex discussions.

Vendor & Financial Management

  • Manage third-party suppliers, contracts, and commercial agreements.

Own project budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting

Requirements

Are you confident managing & communicating with stakeholders on complex projects?

Do you have experience managing digital/ IT projects?, * Proven track record of delivering medium - large scale IT projects on time and budget in complex organisations.

  • Strong knowledge of Agile, PRINCE2.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and leadership skills.
  • Strong understanding of risk management, governance, and compliance.
  • Experience of working as part of a project team in a business and IT change environment
  • A good understanding of the software development lifecycle and release processes
  • Strong coaching & leadership skills
  • Exceptional organisational skills
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills

Desirable Criteria:

  • Strong knowledge of MSP and ITIL frameworks.
  • Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and modern software delivery practices.
  • Experience with Jira or similar delivery tools.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and data protection regulations.
  • Experience of working with third party IT companies/suppliers
  • Experienced customer and business service focus and attention to detail, with demonstrable experience in business engagement and stakeholder management., Professional certification in programme or project management (e.g., PRINCE2, APM Project Management Qualification)., Full-time, although we would be happy to consider applicants who are looking to work on a part time basis.
