Job description

My client is a leading global facilities management provider delivering critical services within data centre environments. Due to ongoing growth at the Acton site, they are seeking an experienced Data Centre Shift Engineer to join their team.

This role will suit an electrically biased M&E engineer with experience in data centres or other critical environments, offering long-term stability, exposure to high-value infrastructure, and a clear pathway into HV Authorised Person (HVAP) responsibilities., * Carry out all planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on critical M&E infrastructure

  • Receive and complete PPM tasks via electronic CAFM systems, ensuring full compliance with procedures
  • Diagnose faults and undertake detailed system analysis across electrical and mechanical plant
  • Maintain accurate electronic and paper-based site logbooks and records
  • Undertake visual condition inspections and report risks impacting reliability or resilience
  • Carry out general maintenance, plant room housekeeping, and cleaning to maximise equipment lifespan
  • Manage and assess subcontractor works, providing performance feedback where required
  • Respond promptly to emergency call-outs and maintain clear client communication
  • Ensure strict adherence to Health, Safety & Environmental policies and safe systems of work
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and added value within site operations
  • Assume or work towards HV Authorised Person (HVAP) duties for the site

Requirements

Do you have experience in Mechanical knowledge?, * Proven experience as an M&E Engineer within a data centre or critical environment

  • Strong electrical background with good mechanical knowledge
  • NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in Electrical Installation (18th Edition desirable)
  • Inspection & Testing experience essential
  • HVAP / AP15 desirable (or willingness to train)
  • FGAS, IPAF, PASMA advantageous
  • Strong fault-finding, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills
  • Professional, reliable, and client-facing approach
  • Comfortable working continental 12-hour day and night shifts
