Job description
The successful candidate will collaborate in developing, maintaining and improving computer software and applications for comprehensive research project and associated human resource management, in order to support planning, monitoring and justifying research activity processes at the University of the Balearic Islands.
Their duties will include:

Developing and maintaining web apps and services for research project and human resource management

Implementing procedures to monitor technical and financial performance on projects
-
Implementing procedures to manage finances and contracts in human resources linked to research activities
-
Integrating and using data from institutional systems (SIRA, Projects and Agreements, UXXI Finances, UXXI Human Resources and other corporate databases)
-
Evolutionary maintenance and continuous improvement for current software, incorporating new features based on the requirements at different Research Area offices and units

Coordinating with other relevant technical teams and services in order to ensure information consistency, quality and security

Taking part in setting out the operational and technical parameters for apps, contributing to better useability, efficiency and suitability for research management processes., Candidates who hold the qualification corresponding to the required category in the job offer with a non-EU degree, if selected, must present a certificate of equivalence of their non-EU qualification to a European qualification, or proof of having applied for this equivalence, in order to proceed with their hiring. In accordance with article 8 of the REGULATORY AGREEMENT 145140 of 15th June 2022 that approves the regulation governing the recruitment of research staff under chapter 6 allocation of the university budget, as well as technical or operational research staff.
Selection comitee
i. The relevant Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Research (or person s/he delegates), as chair. ii. The management team for the relevant department. iii. The members of the Research Area Assessment Committee (CARAI). iv. Three experts in the field pertaining to recruitment, where appropriate, appointed by the chair of the committee, having heard from the management team of the department. v. The head of the Management Office for the Research Promotion and Human Resources Programme (or person s/he delegates), acting as secretary, who may speak but not vote. Additional comments

Requirements

A high school or higher VET diploma or equivalent. Pathway: computer science or ICT. Specific Requirements
Particular consideration will be given to the following:

Full Stack development skills and experience (PHP, MySQL)

Experience working with other programming languages and database engines (particular Oracle)

Experience in managing and integrating data systems

Front end skills (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)

Solid skills in operating systems and collaborative development tools (Git, GitHub, GitLab, etc.)

An ability for learning, independent work and proactivity

Teamwork, communication and collaboration skills

Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills - Entrepreneurship and an interest in continuous improvement for digital services in research.
Language requeriments:
Candidates with the following will be highly regarded:
- An accredited B2 level (or higher) in Catalan and English.
